Healthy Baked Apples with Crisp Topping! If apple crisp is one of your favorite fall desserts, then I’ve got you covered here! These baked apples are topped with an easy, wholesome oat topping and baked ‘til golden brown. And I was able to drop the amount of sugar and calories in the recipe by using @Splenda Naturals Sugar & Stevia Sweetener Blend. It’s made with only cane sugar and stevia leaf extract, so it looks and acts like sugar, but with half the calories! Recipe below! #sponsored #SPLENDASweeties #SweetSwaps.
Healthy Baked Apples with Crisp Topping
2 large apples
⅓ cup old fashioned oats
2 tablespoons almond flour
2 tablespoons SPLENDA® Naturals Sugar & Stevia Sweetener Blend
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons cold butter
Preheat the oven to 350º.
In a small bowl, stir together the oats, almond flour, #Splenda, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add the
butter and use a fork to mix well.
Cut the apples in half and use a small knife or spoon to remove the core and seeds. Lay the apples cut-side-up in a small baking dish. Spoon the oat mixture on top of each of the apples. Fill the dish with ¼-inch of water. Bake until the oat topping is golden brown and apples are soft, about 45 minutes. Add a dollop of store-bought lite whipped topping (optional) and serve!
