Did you know?
Millions of people worldwide suffer from spinal disorders that include low back pain, scoliosis and disc disease. As part of World Spine Day (16th October 2017), we encourage people to take steps to improve their spinal health.
Here are some handy tips to help support a healthy spine:
1. Stay Active – Studies undertaken over a 6 week period had shown that people who exercise for back pain had decreased their pain by 31%. 2. Stretch – People with chronic back pain may have limited range of movement; therefore, stretches must be performed within their range.
3. Improve your posture – Slouching or hunching distorts the natural shape of the spine. Poor posture can put a great deal of stress on the neck and spine which may lead to poor spinal health over time. Being conscious of your posture and correcting it while sitting, standing or sleeping, can help improve spinal health.
