Recently @spartanrace asked me why I race. In case you missed the feature here is my response 😊
My first race was the Utah Super in 2015. I liked the idea of breaking up a run with obstacles and having a training plan that was so diverse.
I race to push and better myself. It's incredibly fulfilling to work hard for something and accomplish goals. I think anyone can do what they put their mind to. After each race I recognize what I need to work on. I've come to know that weak things can be made strong through dedication. I also just love the feeling of being on a trail, dirty, sweaty, and giving it my all. I love the feeling of cresting a climb and of moving heavy weight. Those moments of pushing my body are when I feel most alive!
My biggest advice for a first time Spartan is don't be afraid to talk to others around you. The Spartan community is the best around! Everyone wants to help and we all have a special bond. AROO!
