Erb's Covered Bridge built in 1849 in Lancaster County, PA. The bridge has a single span, wooden, double Burr arch truss design with the addition of steel hanger rods. The deck is made from oak planks. It is painted red, the traditional color of Lancaster County covered bridges, on both the inside and outside. Both approaches to the bridge are painted in the traditional white color.
Roberts Double Barreled Covered Bridge in Eaton, Ohio. Built in 1829, this bridge is no longer open to traffic but taking a stroll through this beauty is like taking a step back in time. One of only 6 double barreled covered bridges in the world and the only one in Ohio.
Road trip! Made it to St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Now we are headed back. Here's the Mackinac Bridge connecting the UP with the rest of Michigan. I tried a pasty in the UP. It was pretty gross. 😜
