1) The First American Gun to Fire in WWI - It was not until nearly 3 years into the Great War that official American Forces operated in Europe against Axis forces (outside of RAF or French Foreign Legion, etc). Over 1.2 million soldiers flooded into Europe which quickly turned the odds in the Allies favor. However, it is important to note that a majority of the fighting and death had already taken place upon the US entry into the war.
