Today. I feel like he was my friend. I feel like he was the melody of my first love, the score to surviving my teenage years, the volume of my young adulthood, the soundtrack to every campfire I ever circled around, the reason why so many memories and people still are embedded so deeply in me, and the basis of why I love music and understand that it is the composition of life. Life would not be the same without music. I feel so honored to have seen him and his best friends play 4 times live and a million times over in my head and heart. But this concert, his last in his hometown of Kingston...Left me speechless and so emotional. My heart is broken at this loss. And I can’t even express it. I am disappointed in my fumbling of words that don’t do justice to this feeling I feel. Fuck your Cancer. •
To help grieve this...what is your favorite Hip song? What is the one that got you through something, that helped you forget something or just got your toe tapping or head rocking??? For me ....wheat kings and fiddlers green...and Courage.
