The coming of the Christ renders all things important, for in the end, everything is made new. There will be no distinction between the ordinary and the sacred because everything is thus propelled toward one purpose: to glorify the most high.
There is then, a pressing imperative to regard everything now as if it matters, and so it does. The redemption of work means that everyone, from your hair stylist to your housekeeper is doing the work and the will of God. Redeeming spaces, creating order. It means that the way we use our language and our bodies have eternal implications, for what is more glorifying than the renewal and the new making of the image bearer.
The new earth doesn’t come about by destruction, but by redemption. Heaven comes down, Christ draws near, God reigns here. Everything matters because everything stays. May you be encouraged then, sisters. For all things done in the here and now, from your office job, to your gardens, to your Saturday morning kitchen clean-up declares to all of creation the return of the King. 🌿
It. All. Matters. And so do you.
