Those who were wanting an update from our stories last night....5 hours into our Emergency room stay they gave her a bed. 2 hours after that we were home.
So let's do a gratitude check instead of complain.... because if I am being honest, I am cranky and have some material to complain about... but gratitude.
My daughter came home instead of being admitted.
We have insurance.
Her virus is nasty, but treatable.
The prayers and well wishes of so many friends and family.
We have options.... we learned we don't like the ER that is close to us, and we have the option to go elsewhere. That is a privilege.
She can communicate her pain and needs.
We have made it 11 years as parents of 3 kids and this was our first ER trip.
Harry was able to work from home the next day.
I was able to drop big kids off at grandparent's house at 2am so I could meet Harry and C who were already waiting at the hospital. Grandpa waited at the edge of the drive way so I could drop and dash.
IPhones and iPads..... the last time I was in an ER was when Harry had a seizure 16 years ago..... that was a long 4 hours without a tiny hand held computer to entertain me. C watched movies and I played on Instagram. Thanks be to God for modern luxuries.
There is probably more, but I am so flippin tired. Thank you for your concern, we have to lay low, but it looks like she is gonns be good as new soon!
