SignUp for Free Writers Class this Monday @aprilyvettethompson “The biggest structural lesson I’ve learned since working with April Yvette Thompson is if there is no action to propel the story forward, it kills your story. Things become static and you might as well write a novel. If you’re an actor/writer like I am, you can feel it. The room becomes dead and you have to work harder to engage. When there’s action, the story flows and your work becomes easier to perform and share with an audience. People are genuinely excited about your work.
I haven’t stopped writing since I started working with April Yvette Thompson. I’ve written two full length plays: Stroke Vagina (my solo play) and Legends of Texas. I’ve also written several short plays: Here Everything’s Better, Service Animal and Stay Woke, Stay Dope. I’m now also writing for the camera and have written a webisode and co-written another webisode for the web series #goinghomeless. Currently I’m co-writing 2 new web series and my first screenplay. “ ~~Nilsa Reyna, ActorWriter
