DAY 6: THE MIND DIET.

Mind Diet Pledge: "I, Palomita of the Casa Niviades, First of Her Name, Queen of the L.B.C., Mother of Plants, Breaker of Chains, Aviator of Her Own Destiny, pledge to no longer Cheeto-Shit by committing the consumption sin of mindless Instagram scrolling. I will only feed my mind nutritional content and not an infinite, soupy feed of unappreciated art, insatiable desires, futile comparisons, obsessive idolatry, and a never ending cascade of product placement.
I, Palomita, acknowledge the irony in making such a pledge on the very platform I must learn to tame; such is paradox. Such is the responsibility of the creator with a penchant for visual arts. Such is the plight of a cute cat video, political junkie, meme addict. The first step, is admitting you have a problem.
Therefore, I Palomita will engage in this medium, MINDFULLY, under the following guidelines:
1) I will limit my instagraming to only one session per day, which will take place outside.
2) Under NO circumstances will I use the random feed search feature to fill in moments of boredom.
Because really, who's in control here? You or the algorithm?

I'm giving up voyeurism gone mad. Instagram: once a day ONLY. No more than an hour. Perhaps on my morning work breaks; enough time to check-in on things and then move on with my reality. And only when I am able to walk outside to indulge; encouraging frequent gazes upwards, towards the sky. Sit up straight. Good posture. No random searches. No mindless scrolling to fill in the lulls throughout the day; those moments would be better spent exploring what projects from inside of me rather than what the world would have me believe. Of myself. Of others. Day 6 is no joke, but it's also what the fuck I came here for, so I made a video to remind myself how to do it-- think outside of all the little boxes.Maintain & #SortYourselfOut
