It’s been a whirlwind of a week and it’s only Tuesday! As I get ready to head to Jamaica to see family and scout potential wedding venues this holiday season, the thought of closing down shop for 2 weeks has my anxiety at an all time high. I’m working hard to make sure that my clients and my business are taken care of and giving myself much needed pep talks every 5 minutes or so 😂 Has anyone else ever had to put their biz on pause before? Would love any tips for maintaining my sanity lol!

Hey y'all! For those that are new here, I'm Christina, the one woman show behind By Stina Faye. I spend my days helping passionate businesses & influencers with creative direction, branding, & web design and love just about every second of it. I was a little stumped on what to say for my #fridayintroductions so I had my (super sarcastic) fiancé, Marcos, step in and write it for me...which may or may not have been a mistake 😂 Here goes...

"If you haven't already realized, Stina Faye is a hybrid of my nickname Stina and my middle name Faye. Well that was insightful...

I'm a glasses wearing 🤓, left handed chef👩🏽‍🍳, who is lowkey obsessed with anything to do with cats 😻.

In middle school my claim to fame was having my sketches in the yearbook labeled as most artsy 🎨. (Gets dust off shoulder.) ⠀

I love to rap along with Cardi B's - Bodak Yellow in the car. Nothing more satisfying than getting every bar right. ⠀

When I'm not working, and being a totally sophisticated Ratchet Rapper, I'm usually dining in downtown Sacramento. If there's anything I love almost as much as cats it's my affinity for fine dining."

Thanks Marcos 🤔 Hopefully we didn't scare anyone off with this one lol. Happy Friday everyone!

Can I gush? Like, can I just flat out gush on this woman right here? •
Sarah is someone who came in to my life just when I needed her. After I had been praying some specific prayers, God answered with one text – it was from Sarah, telling me that God told her to ask me to be a part of her Tribe. I was floored (I’m still in awe when things like this happen). I’m so happy that she was obedient and even more happy that I get to be a part of the amazing things she’s doing. •
My time knowing Sarah has been so amazing (that’s not an adequate word because it’s so much more than amazing). She is always there when you need her, helpful when you have questions, accepting when you’re vulnerable, pumps you up even when you weren’t expecting it…all while having two more than full time jobs. I know I’m not the only one, either, who can say that Sarah has helped her out one way or another. •
If you haven’t heard of @creativesoulstribe I ask that you check it out. I’ve loved my time with them, already, and am so excited for what is to come! •
Sarah, I’m so happy God placed you in my life and look forward to all He will do through you and all I get to witness and help with. •
You are literally an answer to prayers.

So excited to celebrate the launch of Senché Beauty this week with my amazing client @senche_beauty! This project has literally been our baby for the past few months and handling the creative direction, branding, and web design has been an absolute pleasure. With a major passion for catering to the hair extension needs of all ethnicities, Senché Beauty was in need of an earthy + modern identity to help make its mark as a brand to watch out for in the industry. From the brainstorming sessions to the photoshoot, being involved with every last detail makes this launch especially sentimental for us. Be sure to see it all live in action via www.senchebeauty.com! 🍾✨

My process is about 60% creative direction and 40% design. So often do my clients come to me with a vision for their brand but a lack of certainty on how to execute it—and honestly, being able to find that clarity for each & every brand that I work with is what makes my job so fulfilling. Investing in a Brand Stylist is so much more than hiring a pixel pusher. I’m here as your creative partner to make your brand distinctive, strategic, timeless, and authentically you. ✨

Your About page. It can be tough to conquer but it should not be treated as an afterthought. I know firsthand how tough it can be to tie your story into your brand and often find myself tweaking my copy as my biz continues to mature. Here are a few things I've learned along the way:

1. Keep it short & sweet. Trust me, your viewers want to know more about you but they don't need to know your entire life story. Your About page should be easy to digest and straight to the point. ⠀
2. Keep it real. Your About page does not need to be a resumé steaming with perfection & glory. While I encourage you to toot your own horn and play up your accomplishments, don't forget to sprinkle in a bit of realness as a reminder that you're a human and not a unicorn. 🦄

3. Keep it client-focused. Treat your About page as if you were speaking directly to your target audience. How will you serve them? Why are you so passionate about your mission? What makes you relatable to your dream clients? This page is as much about them as it is about you.

Most importantly, don't forget to have fun with it! Think of your About page as an important conversation you need to have with your audience, rather than a chore you need to get out the way. Go ahead and pour a glass of wine and have an About page writing party if you need to, I'm not judging! 😂🍷

Your brand identity is so much more than a pretty logo and a matching color palette. Before determining your brand style, you’ll need to hone in on the audience you want to serve. Who are they? How will you help them? How do you want to make them feel? For me, I’d answer by saying my audience is made up of passionate business owners & influencers. I serve them by creating brand identities & virtual homes (websites) that are infused with strategy & authenticity. I want all of my clients to feel empowered, supported, and confident in their brands after working with me. What would your answer look like? Feel free to practice in the comments below!

Launch Days are a big deal around here. While the end of every project is bittersweet, the feeling of knowing that my clients are officially set up with much needed confidence in their brand & websites never gets old. ⠀

Today we're celebrating the launch of my fabulous client, @studio817's new brand & website! This project was especially near & dear to my heart since Studio 817 is located in my hometown, Sacramento. I've had the pleasure of visiting this amazing venue a couple times and really made it my mission to capture the unique essence of the space. ⠀

Revamping the logo & website for Studio 817 was a refreshingly inspiring process. During the creative direction phase, we knew that we wanted to distinguish the venue as the place to be for Sacramento's most stylish events. The adjectives we infused into the design process were sophisticated, classic, and elegant - and I'm positive that we nailed it! Be sure to take a peek via www.studio817events.com for the full reveal 🍾✨

When I heard it was #nationalentrepreneursday, before thinking about celebrating myself, I couldn't help but be incredibly grateful for all the amazing entrepreneurs I've crossed paths with. I've been especially blessed to work with an abundance of amazing women that run their own empires and trusted me to help them design it. Here's a special shoutout to all the clients I've worked with on branding and/or web design this year, you've inspired & empowered me in more ways than I can count! I wish I could fit everyone in here but Instagram caps slideshows at 10, be sure to swipe through if you're in need of some amazing women-ran businesses to follow! 💖

Heading into the weekend refreshed with so many ideas on how I can better serve my clients and finding it hard to contain my excitement! I also have a special little something up my sleeve for anyone who's been thinking about working with me in 2018. Be sure to check out my story for the 411 and have a fabulous weekend, my friends 💖

Happy Friday, friends! It is I, Christina - the Brand Stylist & Web Designer behind By Stina Faye. My little business is my pride & joy that I've been evolving for almost 2 years now. What I love most about my job is simply being able to empower other women with the confidence to own their brand & websites. Taking your visions & ideas and transforming them into something that's tangible, strategic, and authentically you is kind of a superpower that I will never take for granted. Now since I've tooted my own horn today, it's your turn to do the same. What's something that you consider a superpower of your own that gets you through each day? #fridayintroductions

Celebrating yet another website launch with my fabulous client @camitiffin! It finally feels like fall here and I'm celebrating with a refreshed perspective. I used to always tell myself that "failure was not an option". Looking back, I cringe at thinking it was ever okay to put that kind of pressure on myself. What isn't an option is giving up. Failure happens and is often a necessary part of the learning process. When it does happen, just remember to do like Aaliyah said and dust yourself off and try again! ✨

I'm finally starting real work on creating fonts for CreativeMarket. Soon. Soon. Very Soon! So excited!

The funny thing about websites is that they can never really be considered "finished". Are there certain points when they're considered "done" for the moment? Yes! Should you always be updating your website content and evolving its growth to match your own? Absolutely! If you've been holding back on a website launch in the midst of a constant struggle to make sure everything is just right, remind yourself that "done is better than perfect" and give yourself permission to launch already. You'll learn so much more through trial & error than you'll ever learn from remaining stagnant. 🖥✨

Me in a nutshell. Raise your hand if you can relate 🙋🏽✨ P.S. just learned this quote is by Lewis Carroll and not Lauren Conrad 😂 #mybad #wrongLC

My little slice of heaven *aka my office* is feeling extra inspirational today. Is it just me or has it seemed like inspiration has been at an all time high as of recent? For me, that means my thoughts are all over the place and hard to contain at times, but it also means a major shift is on its way - which I could not be more excited about. Here's to having a creative boost of energy to get us through the end of the week! 🥂✨

I've been doing a bit of market research lately and noticed a major lack of well-designed websites within the beauty industry. With the majority of consumers in this day & age using the world wide web + social media to find businesses they'd like to engage with, having a website is essential to ensure your biz is as visible as it deserves to be. Think about it. What would you do if Instagram was the only place that housed your work + funneled your bookings, and the app got shut down tomorrow? What about all the potential clients you could be reaching that simply aren't on social media? Let's not even talk about how unreliable social media algorithms can be too 😅 I cover all of these concerns + more on my latest blog post, if you're in a beauty or service-based business, be sure to click the link in my bio for a quick but essential read!

Here's a sneak peak at a branding project that's currently in the works with @lashesalamode_seattle. The custom floral illustration and the scripted elements in the logo created the perfect touches for the romantic x glam brand that Azizah was envisioning to reach her dream clientele. ⠀

Lashes A La Mode is a Seattle based beauty biz with a passion for lashes + making women look & feel amazing. This project has been such a dream to creatively direct & design. Can't wait to unveil the website we've been working on soon too! 💖

Wrapping up this #moodboardmonday with a sneak peak at a very special rebrand + a few quick tips on how you can get your own mood boards started:

- Define your style. ⠀
First things first, you need to set the intention of your mood board. Choose 3-4 adjectives that will describe the vibes you’re hoping to curate. For this one in particular, the adjectives were feminine, minimal, & modern. ⠀
- Mix it up.⠀
For the ultimate balance within the mood boards I curate, I like to pull inspo from the following categories: textures, colors, typography, landscapes, style muses, and interior design. ⠀
- Less is more. ⠀
Your mood board doesn’t need to have every inch of space covered. The more you can narrow down your inspirations, the more intentional your mood board becomes.

All the inspo at my fingertips on this lovely Friday. Lately I've been focusing on how grateful I am for the resources I have available to consistently learn, evolve, and repeat. Happy Friday everyone! ✨

As if I needed more reasons to eat tacos, #nationaltacoday makes it absolutely mandatory 💁🏽🌮✨

As a web designer that works primarily with Squarespace, the fun part for me is the challenge of taking a template and making it as not "Squarespacey" as I possibly can. If you're familiar with the platform, you know what I mean - a Squarespace site that lacks creative design can be recognized as "just a template" from a mile away. ⠀

That often means finding workaround after workaround and incorporating lots of custom CSS to get your site looking & feeling custom with the functionality to follow. This particular site design that I created for @t.l.creations is the perfect example to showcase what I mean. To give you a peek at my process, here's the checklist I typically run through during the web design phase of my projects:

Prior to project - All questionnaires are completed & content is turned in by you, the client, before any work is started. ⠀

Week 1: I design a mockup of how your home page design will flow to be reviewed and approved by you, ensuring we're on the same page. ⠀

Week 2-3: Once approved, I get to work at developing your website via Squarespace. This includes creating custom graphics and implementing any necessary code to get it looking & functioning just right. ⠀

Week 3-4: Squarespace tutorial videos are recorded so you know exactly how to maintain your site on your own. Then we launch & celebrate! 🍾✨

Hoping to get your brand & website revamped in time for the new year? I have one remaining spot in my client schedule for 2017 and would love to hear from you! 💌 hello@bystinafaye.com

This week has been cray. I started Sunday by spending it with amazing, ambitious women at #sacredthebrunch and left more inspired than ever. On Monday, I decided to put in notice to my part time job that it was time for me to leave so I can focus on my own journey. In between that, I've had some of the most challenging projects I've had to date and have learned so much along the way through repeated trial & error. Today, for the first time ever, I woke up 100% self-employed, scared out of my mind, but so ready to take on this next chapter. So now if you don't mind, I'm going to spend the remainder of my day drinking wine out of my coffee cup to calm my nerves as I continue to tackle my to-do list. Anyone else have a rollercoaster of a week and need a bit of wine to wrap it up? Cheers y'all! 🥂✨

One thing I've learned as a business owner is that I am not, and should not want to be an expert in every single realm related to my craft. When it comes to Search Engine Optimization, it can often feel like a foreign concept to most people (myself included at times). Which is why I brought in an expert to shed a bit of light on the best ways to create SEO rich content for your website to help bring in those leads with a bit of strategy. You can head to my blog to dig into this very special guest post by Meara, who is a Digital Marketing Strategist and founder of The Digital Seed! #linkinbio
