Her name is Kalikeya, the goddess of death and destruction..some people don’t understand the beauty in darkness. But from death, comes rebirth. Death is the door to the other dimension. It’s a poetic cycle that serves as a reminder that this is all temporary.
when we call her the goddess of destruction, she is not destroying creation or is an evil goddess.. with all the ugliness in this world, we need her protection from the evil and destruction in this world so we use the courage and strength of Kali for she is the only God who can face it head on.
There is an ancient story told about Kali. There was a demon terrorizing the world and at a loss, they pray to Kali to save them. Every drop of blood spilled by the demon Raktabija becomes a deadly fighting clone, but Kali turns the battle around and defeats him by draining his blood before it touches the ground, then devours his replicates. In this story she is brought in to play when decisive action is required, when dark deeds must be matched with dark deeds, when resolve must be shown - attributes not always associated with the archetypal woman but however necessary.
