👾That's right, ladies and gentlemen, gone are the days of gaming just being a “nerdy” hobby and here are the days when Esports are becoming recognized as a respectable(and lucrative) career path. As such, professional Esports athletes, both at the collegiate and top levels of competition, want to do whatever it takes to set themselves up for success in their career and in life. 👾When I recently polled members of local competitive gaming groups about what makes successful player, the results were staggering. ALL the traits mentioned by responders, save a couple personality traits like willingness to practice and patience, are ones that have been found to be effected positively by exercise. Attentiveness, reaction time, endurance, critical thinking skills, pattern recognition skills, memory recollection, and stress management are all qualities that share a correlation with exercise! 👾Just like in every competitive sport, an Esports athlete must spend hours upon hours perfecting their play and learning information on their chosen game. In the strength and conditioning world, this is what we call “skill” work, and it comprises the largest portion of an athlete’s training time and overall progress in their sport. Because of this, it stands to reason that every Esports athlete should do what it takes to ensure they can get the most out of that practice time. .
