🔸️#KNOWYOURFOOD: LET'S TALK ABOUT CARBS.🔸️ First thing first: CARBS are an essential macronutrient. Incorporating a healthy amount into your diet is NECESSARY. Do NOT avoid carb like the plague. ❌For real, eating carbs does not = gaining fat.❌ .
✔Second: There's lots of different kinds of carbs. Generally speaking, there's about 2 different kinds of carbs, Simple vs Complex. But that being said, not all simple carbs are equal, and not all complex carbs are equal.
✔Third: Let's break down SIMPLE carbs. The simplest form of carbohydrate is glucose. Simple sugars that are found in foods include sucrose (table sugar), fructose (found in fruit), and lactose (found in milk). Not all simple carbs are bad. Natural simple carbs in fruit and dairy are perfectly healthy! If you're going simple, try to stick to whole fruits (not fruit juices) and organic dairy instead of the table sugars and sweeteners. .
✔NEXT UP: Complex carbs. The first type is COMPLEX STARCHY CARBS, which what you typically think of: pasta, rice, bread, etc. Where these carbs start to go downhill is with REFINED complex starchy carbs, like white bread or regular pasta. Try to stick to UNREFINED complex starchy carbs (whole wheat pasta, oatmeal, whole grains, etc). The second type is COMPLEX FIBROUS CARBS, which are most vegetables. Fibrous carbs are rich sources of vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and other nutrients and tend to be green vegetables. These are full of fiber, which is the indigestible portion of plant material (i.e. vegetables) .

👉I'm not saying you should never eat foods with simple refined sugars. That is NOT my kind of life. If you want to eat that damn ice cream or donut or slice of pie, DO IT. But if you're looking for ways to make slightly healthier choices, try subbing OUT the REFINED shit as much as possible with UNREFINED and WHOLE carbs. But again, #FINDYOURBALANCE and do your thang. 😍

Egg Muffins!! Spray a muffin/cupcake pan w/ non-stick spray.
Fill with ANYthing you want: ham & broccoli, chicken & carrots, spinach w/ feta & tomatoes, steak & bell peppers....whatever you have in the fridge. (Note: add all veggies RAW - they will cook to perfection during the baking process)
Mix approx 1 egg per/muffin in a blender w/ a splash of milk. Pour directly into each cup just below the rim.
Top with shredded or sliced cheeses of your choice.
Bake at 425 degrees for approx 20 min.
Let cool before removing from pan
These can be stored in your fridge for up to 3-4 days! Simply warm in the microwave for a quick breakfast on-the-go!

Esta fue mi compra de alimentos el pasado fin de semana. Todavia me mantengo comprando alimentos no perecederos porque continua sin servicio de energia eléctrica y dependo de un generador pero por ciertas horas y mi refrigeración no es estable.
Sigue estas recomendaciones para mantener tu comida segura y evita la contaminación con el crecimiento de bacterias. 📝Si tienes accesibilidad a hielo o tienes refrigeración parcial puedes realiar tu propio hielo en bolsas ¨ziplocks¨ o en envases plásticos para mantener los alimentos que lo requieran a temperatura. 📝El arroz, pasta, papas y viandas deben consumirse y los sobrantes refrigerarse antes de 2 horas de cocidos, de lo contrario descártelos. Cuando compres carnes frescas consúmelas ese mismo día para evitar cambios en temperatura si no tienes refrigeración estable. La leche UHT debe ser refrigerada luego de abierta. Las frutas y vegetales manténlos en un área fresca y asegúrate que estén libres de manchas negras o areas dañadas. Enjuágalos bien con un cepillo específico para esto antes de consumirlas.
