How are you brave today?
How are you getting through this scary/ hateful/ toxic world? Wait for no one, ask no ones permission. Follow your hearts desire to an ecstatic life. Be flawed, vulnerable, emotional, irrational, unapologetically beautiful, messy, and unconventional. Step up and stand in solidarity with community that needs you. No one has the right to your body, your expression, your religion, your sexuality. You are smart and brave and powerful and deeply loved. Portland babes, I know we're all deeply shaken by the recent events. Thank you for those that have, and will continue to show up in solidarity with community that is most vulnerable right now. "You don't have to be pretty. You don't owe prettiness to anyone. Not to your boyfriend/spouse/partner, not to your co-workers, especially not to random men on the street. You don't owe it to your mother, you don't owe it to your children, you don't owe it to civilization in general. Prettiness is not a rent you pay for occupying a space marked 'female.'" -Erin McKean
