1 cup brewed coffee
1 Tbs virgin coconut oil
1 Tbs heavy cream
1 Tbs organic grass fed butter
1/8 tsp turmeric
1/8 tsp cinnamon

This was #fuel for #legday #lowerbodyworkout, a dreaded day by many, personally find it hard to beat the #pump from a #solid #legworkout. .minimal #breakfast because the #fatfuck in me took over last night and so #hobnobs and #malteasers had to be added to #myfitnesspal #illneverlearn #fatboyforlife . #Firstmealoftheday has a good mix of #slowcarbs and #LowFat to level out any spike in #bloodsugar levels.. starting to research more in to the #ketodiet with added focus on #glycemicindex .The correlation between #bloodsugarlevels and #seratonin levels should be a focus for anyone with a #sweettooth that has found the #blackdog something hard to shift. ⠀

BRB just over here knocking breakfast out of the park 🤣#humblebrag // could not think about a smoothie this morning after my walk outside—so cold— and didn’t want oatmeal. but needed something warm and nourishing. 🤔 thought about what i had in the pantry for #zerowaste and camenup with this🤓: 2 socca (chickpea flour) pizzas with an egg on top and half of a tiny avocado. boom 💥 might or might not have saved some socca to dip in honey 😳 gotta have that energy for @madsouthendclt later on! 💪🏼 don’t be afraid to get creative in the kitchen y’all! play with flavors. it’s fun! 😜

Have only a few minutes to squeeze in some meal prep today or tonight? Roasted sweet potatoes are the no-big-deal of meal prep. 🙌 With very little effort and time, you can stockpile your fridge with ready-to-eat, nutrient-rich #slowcarbs that are great with breakfast, lunch, or dinner.👊 Meal prep doesn't always have to happen in one big session. Micro sessions, squeezed in when you have a little time to spare works great, too!

Roasted Sweet Potatoes:
👉Rinse potatoes and scrub clean. Cut in half lengthwise, rub cut side with a little bit of oil, and then season with salt and your favorite spices. I love to use the Montreal blend from @teenytinyspice, or a combo of chili powder & cumin. Whatever spice blend you choose, check the label to make sure it's made with recognizable ingredients, and none of the junk that's going to interfere with your health.

Place cut side down on a baking sheet, and bake at 400F for about thirty minutes (until soft). .

If you're cooking #organic potatoes, go right ahead and enjoy the eating the skin, too! It's a good source of vitamins and minerals such as iron, potassium, and b vitamins, and contains a good dose of fiber, too. Conventional (not organic) potatoes are on the "dirty dozen" list when it comes to pesticide use, so, in that case, avoid eating the skin.

Cozy lunch on a chilly day... I always want to eat big portions when it's cold out. ❄️❄️I'm trying to focus on filling up on fiber and eating as many leafy greens as possible. 🌱🌱🌱 That's why I'm diving into this sautéed kale with yellow bell peppers, mushrooms, tomato, garlic and onions. Gotta have my healthy fat (yay avocados! 🥑) protein (chickpeas) and some starchy veg (roasted sweet potato with truffle salt. 🍠 Yum!) Happy Sunday vibes, everyone! 😀

Truth.😂 You, too? Anything to make the whole grocery shopping thing quicker, right? And am I the only one who thinks unpacking the groceries is the worst part of it all? 😕

Working on my shopping list now, as a matter of fact. Before I could write that list, I went through my usual meal planning steps: .

✅Checked the fridge, freezer, and pantry for what we need to use up this week. For example, I just know I have to make something with artichokes this week, because somehow, we have so many artichokes in the pantry. So many.😃 Not sure how that happened.😕 The freezer yielded a couple of ideas, too. I found some wild salmon and stir fry veggies from Trader Joe's, which I'll use for a dinner and perhaps a lunch leftover. I also found a batch of cooked butternut squash. I'm thinking I might flip that into a super hearty side in some sort of baked lentil/squash/feta casserole with a few pine nuts on top. (You guessed it - we have some lentils and pine nuts in the pantry that I'd like to make use of! 😊). .

✅Checked the calendar to see what's on deck this week. Which nights are super busy? Which nights will I have time to cook? I nailed down which days will be grab-and-reheat foods I've already prepped (#batchcooking FTW!), and which days I'll make something. .
.
✅Checked market flyers/website for this week's deals, especially for in-season items. .
.
✅Finalized a rough list of the dinners for the week, made a loose plan for lunches, and checked if we need to restock any of our breakfast staples (frozen berries & other fruits; steel-cut oats; eggs; plain Greek yogurt, etc.). .

-baked sweet potato from @freshthyme -sautéed chicken breast with peppers, jalapeños, & white onion in avo oil (@chosenfoods) spiced with @mrsdashrecipes Southwest Chipotle seasoning, cumin, cayenne, and chili powder -steamed sweet corn
-drained, rinsed, and warmed up black beans -medium salsa (@fronterafoods)
-steamed quinoa (@ancientharvest) -avo 🥑 of course! -added some lime juice, cilantro, and a dash of chipotle sauce 😋
And yes, it did not stay this pretty for long 😏 •
