❗️Do you make or order salads thinking it is the healthiest choice ? ⠀
I know I was guilty of this. I would always eat salads at night, thinking I needed to eat "light", or I would always order salads at restaurants thinking it was the only healthy choice to make. 🙄 DUH ! First, you can totally eat healthy meals that do not include a single lettuce leaf. Think waffles, healthy mac & cheese, and also sandwiches
👉🏼This bad boy on the left is composed of Ezekiel bread, avocado, turkey breast, spinach, egg, and tomato
👉🏼The salad is made with spinach, kale, sweet potatoes, turkey breast, goat cheese, egg, nuts, courgette, avocado and dried cranberries. The dressing is light (olive oil + Apple cider vinegar + lemon). And this is also true for restaurants. In the video I posted last week on YouTube, I shared the nutritional value of a salad VS a sandwich in a healthy restaurant chain and I was so shocked !! Salads appeared way higher in calories than the sandwiches
The problem does no lie in the calorie content - I will eat both - but just in the misconception of what "healthy" means.
So think twice before ditching that sandwich for the "healthy" option
