I cannot lie. Like so many others, i struggle with my body especially when summer comes around. Many say i shouldn’t worry or be ashamed of my body because i am petite and thin. But what a lot of people do not realize is i am unfit. I have hundreds of self inflicted scars that haunt me. Those are the things that i am so self conscious about. My leg doesn’t work the way i want it to. I am too weak to try and walk sometimes and these things add up. I don’t wear clothes that will show my scars because i am embarrassed of my past decisions. This summer i am going to work on getting my body and my mind to the place i know i should be.

Jeeeeez so I’ve been going through old photos. The one on the left I was 95kg March 1st 2017, one year on, in the right and I’m 85kg 😩 22lbs or 10 fucking kgs lost. I guess I have travelled over 15,000 miles and been to 7 countries but still, I miss my mass 😩😢

Planning yoru own birthday meal be like... Not even sure if I'll manage to go any one of those places. 😅

First day of my training plan (Monday is a rest day) so a good time to check in with my stats, figured if I post my statistical progress on here that would give me more drive to keep working. I'll do this monthly to see how I'm doing. I got a readout in January so I will use that as my base.
Won't bother with height unless something strange happens. I always thought I was 6'2" so I feel robbed on that one anyway. Equally don't care about BMI because we all know that's horseshit.

My aims are not weight based as I'm looking to build a little muscle and drop my body fat %. Everyone who knows me will know I fall into the skinny but somehow fat body shape. Can't be doing with that like.

Weight
80.9kg ➡️ 82kg 🤷‍♂️... Body fat %
24.3% ➡️ 22.9% 💪... Body fat mass
19.6kg ➡️ 18.7%

Yeah... That's ok! Lost 1.4% body fat and built 1.1kg of muscle weight. I'll take that but won't settle with it. Feel free to rip me to shreds in comments, it will make me work harder 😈 🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃

@Regranned from @chadhargrove1 - You might be surprised to find out just how many times I talk to clients about the fact that they don’t have to worry about their diet that much at the beginning.

I mean, I want them eating healthy and I always want them making sure they work on getting enough protein.

But if they’re new to strength training and are pretty physically weak — no matter what, I know getting stronger will burn fat unless they aren’t eating way too much.

If you can’t do several clean pushups and you can’t easily pick up your bodyweight in a Deadlift for several reps, you’ve got a need for strength. And I’ve seen plenty of people who aren’t even close to these things. Which excites me because it shows tremendous room to progress without worrying much about diet.

The beauty is, you’ll get leaner without losing weight.

So, you may be skinny fat or a little overweight — and if so, and you’re holding a lot of extra fat, trust me, you have a strength problem more than a diet problem.

If you’re overweight, you’ll have to learn to eat a little less — whether right away or as you get into the swing of things with strength training is up to you. Strength matters for you though. No amount of sweat or spinning classes will make up for it.

If you’re skinny fat — I define it by being underweight or of normal weight but can’t do pull ups or chin ups (different for girls and guys) — than you need to eat more and focus on getting stronger.

Start light, work on form and add weight to the major compound lifts. Deadlifts, squats, presses and rows mainly. Farmer carries are great too. 3 or 4 sets of reps between 6-12 work great. Pick 14-16 sets per workout 3-4 times per week. Just add weight and get stronger.

You have a muscle and strength problem more than a diet problem.

Eating less or a calorie deficit is not always the answer.
