Team "Ofe Nsala Day" is here again with the recipe or procedure on how to prepare "Ofe Nsala". We earlier posted the ingredients for " Ofe Nsala" which includes; crayfish, pepper, utazi seed, orima seed, udah seed (optional), fish, meat, utazi leave, yam, maggi.
In a pot on the cooking gas or stove, add the quality of water you will need for the "Ofe Nsala". Cut small quantity of yam in cubes and add in the pot of soup on fire and cook to tender. Bring out the cooked yam, pound to smoothness and set aside.
Grind the ingredients: crayfish, orima seed, pepper, udah seed (optional), uziza seed, ehulu, together and set aside. * If you are using meat, chicken, per-boil with salt and maggi and keep.
* If you are using cat fresh fish, wash with hot water to remove the slipperiness.
In the quality of water you want to use to cook, already on your cooking gas or stove, allow water to boil, add the meat, chicken or fish. Add salt, maggi and the ground ingredients. Cook for 10min, add a little quantity of the pounded yam to be used as thickner. When the pounded yam thickner dissolves, depending on how thick u want the soup to be, u can now slice or cut the utazi leaf and add.
Bring down the "Ofe Nsala" it's done, ENJOY with your family. Hmmmmm! Yummy!
