The Gabrielino from Red Box to JPL was the "go to" ride not that long ago. You could always ride the Gab. When it was raining, when it was hot or in the middle of the day just because, it was also there. The ride was diverse, longer than most and it made its travelers feel like they were in a far-off land. All that changed in 2009 when the Station Fire scorched the Gabrielino and everything in its way. Very few things living or inanimate survived the fire. In fact, the fire was hot enough to burn the traffic paint off Angeles Crest Highway. Almost eight years later the trail is still closed.
This weekend, the Mt Wilson Bicycling Association partnering with Golden Saddle Cyclery are going to put in major work on the Gab to get it one step closer to opening. Join us this Saturday and Sunday on the mountain. There will be lots of hard work but lots of cool people, things to see and things to do! Follow the link below to sign up and get involved!
Sunday starting at 6:30, the SCOA Shuttle will be taking participants from the JPL "Parking Lot" to Switzers. The shuttle is free but you'll need to sign up. Clink the link below and get involved.
