I used to think that as a mom I didn't have time to do the things that were once important to me. I cut out a lot of seemingly little things from my life when I first had my daughter....reading for pleasure, reading for enlightenment, meditating, stretching, quiet alone time, as well as eating healthy.
I thought those things just needed to take a back burner in my life, because I was now a mom. I just thought that's how it worked.
It took me way too long, and a bad bout of PPD, to realize that for the sake of my relationships (including my relationship with myself), I NEEDED those things. I need those things that make me ME!
But I still didn't know where to find the time to do those things. Being a mom is a full time job! So I decided to just *try* to start working them in...slow and steady wins the race, right?
But the real trick is, I had to learn to make these things PRIORITIES! They weren't just going to magically appear in my schedule. I had to sacrifice other things in order to make room for them. Sometimes that's sleep, sometimes that's tv watching time, sometimes that's mindlessly scrolling on my phone (something that saved me during the first few months of being a "mombie"). And it was MORE than worth it. I am a much more pleasant person to be around, and I have so much more love for myself! And I desperately want to help others feel the same way 💗
So I am opening up five new spots in my health and wellness group, where we will be focusing on making ourselves a priority for the next month! I will help you understand why it's OKAY and IMPORTANT to do so. And by doing so, you will also feel more in control of your health, which is incredibly empowering, and only increases the positivity in your life.
