This week our spotlight is on Elizabeth (Liz), our new treasurer! Liz worked hard last year as one of our treasurers in training, so we know she will do great this year. When she’s not shining on stage you will often see her laughing with other scdc members in common grounds.
When co-president Kelly isn’t dancing, she’s on an adventure! Here she is repping scdc at Hiyalite Canyon in Montana. Send us your summer photos to be featured! #scdcsummer

“During focus groups girls stated that they were not told anything specific about menstruation, like where it comes from or how to manage it. In all five countries, more than 80% of girls said their mothers were their source of information. A lack of knowledge about their sexual and reproductive health and rights was argued to affect their sense of empowerment to manage monthly periods and make informed decisions about sex after menarche.” ✨ Uganda is one of the five countries mentioned in this study. Education about menstrual health is the key to empowerment.
