Hearing is underrated. This is why scripture says, "he who has 👂s to hear, let him hear". Active listening is a great first step to managing conflict. It entails: silence, onomatopoeia that signify engagement, other nonverbal cues of engagement, and reframing what the speaker said in your own words to make sure you are on the same page. That last one is tricky, because too many reframing interventions can disrupt their thought-streaming and too little can make them think you're only physically present. Balance. Everything in moderation, even moderation 😜.
