"Nature chose for a tool, not the earthquake or lightning to rend and split asunder, not the stormy torrent or eroding rain, but the tender snow-flowers noiselessly falling through unnumbered centuries."

Happy Heavenly Birthday to actress Beverly Bayne (1893*-1982) 💖💖💖. Although born in Minnesota, Bayne spent much of her childhood in Chicago. It was while living there that, as a curious teenager, she visited the Essanay Studios. Someone at the studio saw potential in the young beauty and it wasn’t long before she was going in front of the camera. Making her film debut in 1912, she would work steadily in silent film until the mid-1920s. Beginning in 1915, Bayne frequently co-starred with actor Francis X. Bushman (1883-1966). With their movies together including titles like “Romeo and Juliet” (1916), “The Great Secret” (1917), and “Darling Hearts” (1919), the pair became romantically linked and married in 1918. Often considered the first romantic film duo, the pair had one son before divorcing in 1925. Bayne also abandoned film in favor of stage acting that same year. Returning to the screen nearly a quarter of a century later, she made one last movie (and her only sound film), “The Naked City” (1948). After a couple of television roles, Bayne fully retired from acting in the early 1950s. Another marriage in the late 1930s also ended in divorce. Sadly, she suffered a personal blow when her only child, Richard Bushman (1919-1967), committed suicide 😞🙏🏼💖. The two had been close, as her son had been estranged from his father and reportedly even dropped the Bushman name and adopted his mother’s surname instead as an adult. Beverly Bayne was living in Arizona when she suffered a heart attack and passed away in 1982 at the age of 88*. (*Some sources give 1894 as her birth year). #beverlybayne #happybirthday #heavenlybirthday #happyheavenlybirthday #oldhollywood #vintagehollywood #classichollywood #silenthollywood #classicactress #vintageactress #oldhollywoodactress #classicbeauty #silentactress #silentfilmactress #vintagebeauty #oldhollywoodbeauty #silentbeauty #silentfilmbeauty #essanaystudios #hollywoodmarriage #francisxbushman

Happy Heavenly Birthday to actress Margaret Morris (1898-1968) 💖💖💖. The great-niece of former president Benjamin Harrison (1833-1901), Morris grew up in Minnesota. Deciding to pursue a career in acting, she headed to Hollywood as a young woman, determined to make her way into films. The pretty redhead made her film debut in “Her First Elopement” (1920), and worked steadily into the late 1920s, appearing in titles such as “The Town Scandal” (1923), “Beasts of Paradise” (1923), “The Best People” (1925), “Born to the West” (1926), and “The Magic Garden” (1927). Morris was named one of the WAMPAS Baby Stars of 1924, but by the dawn of the sound era a few years later, her career had slowed. She did, however, make uncredited bit appearances in a handful of 1930s movies like “Gambling Lady” (1934), “Alice Adams” (1935), and “The Toast of New York” (1937), before fully retiring in 1937. I really could not find much out about her personal life. I know as of 1940 she was unmarried and residing with her mother, who died a few years later. Although it is possible she could have later married, I do not believe she ever had children. Margaret Morris passed away in 1968 at the age of 69 😞🙏🏼💖. #margaretmorris #happybirthday #heavenlybirthday #happyheavenlybirthday #oldhollywood #vintagehollywood #classichollywood #silenthollywood #classicactress #vintageactress #oldhollywoodactress #silentactress #silentfilmactress #classicbeauty #vintagebeauty #oldhollywoodbeauty #silentbeauty #silentfilmbeauty #wampasbabystar #1924
