223. An illustrated culmination of the three most important albums in my musical appreciation and, starting with Shogun, the real start of my passion for it 🤘 The appreciation for Japanese culture and historic art, as well as mythical creatures of legend and mythology is prevalent.
IV - a powerful record with a damning message about the war-torn world, mixed with heavy and melodic riffs, referencing various cultures.
VII - a presence and power that exceeds the preconceived belief of vocal harmonics in metal.
VIII - a superb display of raw strength and passion for the craft.
Another favourite comes in the form of In Waves, however there is, in my mind, a kind of trilogy that takes place between those aforementioned (some of the lyrics and songwriting in general are up for listeners’ interpretation, here’s mine)
I couldn’t decide which illustration I liked best, so decided to post all three. These colours are the ones referenced during initial photo shoots for the promo videos of Silence In The Snow, the seventh studio album. I would very much like an Ibaraki skull mask of my own 😁
