Since 1978 the corner of Queen and Parliament was home to Marty Millionaires, a furniture store recognizable by its blue-teal paint job. The building is being renovated and restored to be the future home of the WE Charity's Global Learning Centre. As the old paint was removed, a ghost sign from the past has been revealed. The second floor of the building once housed the Home Bowling Club, which opened in the 1920s and closed in the '70s.

San Diego, California: Established in 1959, the Aztec Bowl was a bowling alley that featured live bands in the Turquoise Room. The bowling alley closed in 2001 and was demolished to build condos. The old bowling alley sign was incorporated into the building. While I do appreciate that they color matched the building to the sign, it does make the sign blend into the building rather than stand out. A wee bit too much mustard yellow going on. Even the Aztec doesn't seem too thrilled about it. Anyways, I really like the light fixtures and the font on the sign. šŸŽ³šŸŽ³šŸŽ³ #bowlingalley #bowlingšŸŽ³

Mary Mac's Tea RoomĀ is a historic restaurant inĀ Atlanta,Ā Georgia, servingĀ Southern cuisine. Every morning the workers shuck bushels ofĀ corn, hand wash selectedĀ greensĀ and snap the freshĀ greenbeansĀ by hand.Ā BreadsĀ andĀ dessertsĀ are baked on the premises

Mary MacKenzie opened the restaurant in 1945. Just afterĀ World War II, enterprising women in search of a living, many of them widowed by the war, were establishing restaurants throughout Atlanta. Calling their establishments "tea rooms" was a polite way of elevating their endeavor. The restaurant is known for continuing the cooking traditions of MacKenzie and her successor, Margaret Lupo, who owned the Tea Room from 1962 until 1994
