I was up to the challenge of doing a Max Flow class last night. We did this side plank variation with a crunch with 8 crunches on each side. It felt great actually. #sideplankpose 🙏🏾

What do you do when you’re tired but there’s still one more boat, one more plank m, one more vinyasa to do on the mat, or one more person to win over at work? I always have these internal battles in my head, and while I like to believe the good side wins, I’m still working to find and listen to that small, still voice. Where do you find your grace and strength today? .

I am showing the exit from crow into pyramid pose in the first clip, and a way to transition into a side plank variation with a toe grab. For the movement from crow to pyramid, place one foot down next to your hands and step the other foot back. Bring your hands to #reversenamaste or take any arm variation that works for you.

To move into side plank, place the hand opposite your front foot firmly down onto the mat (place it just ahead of your front foot), pivot your feet/body to the side, and use the other hand to grab your toe and extend your top leg to the sky. Or just take regular side plank and extend your top hand to the sky. Shift your gaze to your top hand if you are stable 🤗

Springtime explorations of side plank pose! There's so many options with this one - knee down or legs straight or bottom leg straight with top leg lifted or even hanging into the top foot, making fun patterns in the sky...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This was a hard one for me, for a long time. This Asana was one that I just could NOT seem to get! Practice, Practice, Practice and a few tricks and tips to get you there if you're trying:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1) Focus - find your drishti, look at it with your eyes, and just keep looking at it. As with many balance poses, this is so, so key!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2) Stack your joints - this one takes a little while to feel, and then once you do it, you feel like you're floating! You can start with the knee down version for more stability, and then really pay attention to the stack of your wrist, elbow and shoulder on the weight bearing arm. And, spread those fingers out!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

3) Hips high! - Lift your hips up really high so you can start to press the sole of your bottom foot into the ground. this takes some core strength and ankle flexibility, and also that's why we are here right?... to practice.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
