I haven't posted for some time - I definitely will soon, but I just have been to busy since I returned from France. I miss instagram, but sometimes other stuff is just more important - good stuff and bad stuff alike.
However, I wanted to take the time to take part in the #metoo movement because this is not only about Harvey Weinstein anymore. This is about all women, about not being silent, about empowerment - about standing together.
I have been groped on the famous bridge in Budapest when I crossed it on my own in the afternoon, by a colleague at my first school when I was still a trainee teacher and he explained something to me, and on a bus in my own city when a man tried to force me to sit next to him. I have been called a slut and a whore by a man I loved because he thought it was hot, but I didn't think so and he knew. I have been stared at, catcalled and followed down the street, no matter if wearing a skirt or winter boots and an outdoor jacket.
As girls and women, we are still taught to be nice and quiet. But there is power in numbers, so here is my post.
