SPOON: Photographer @erickdoxey's ‘Hot Thoughts’ on @spoontheband
Photos and commentary from Spoon's recent performance in Spokane, Washington.
For the casual listener, Spoon is a satisfying indie-band that resurfaces every so often to elevate the status of indie music. But like any successful, long-term band, there is a large group of diehards out there who anxiously await and ravenously consume Spoon’s latest offerings. Unlike other fanbases, however, what makes Spoon fans unique is their inability to agree. It’s part of the fun. Ask five different fans for their favorite Spoon album, for example, and you’ll likely get five different answers.
Erick Doxey is one of those diehards. Doxey, a photographer living in Spokane, Washington, is a Spoon-man to the n’th degree. Needless to say, Doxey did not delay accepting our invitation to shoot Spoon’s August 28 performance at the Knitting Factory Spokane. In addition to showcasing his incredible photography, Behind the Setlist asked Doxey about his own personal fan history with Spoon, what he thinks of their recent record, #HotThoughts, and more.
