It's that time of year! Just bought our first one! 🍉 I learned last year how to really pick a good watermelon... and it hasn't failed me yet ☺️ •1• Look for field spots! This is the yellow spot on the watermelon! The more creamy/gold it is the better! It means the watermelon sat on the ground longer! •2• Look for webbing! Did you know this means how long the bees 🐝 touched the watermelon for pollination?! So neat! •3• Look for gender 💙💕 The male watermelons are taller/longer & are more watery. The female watermelons are more round & sweeter! Who knew?! •4• Look at the size! Bigger isn't always better! The best ones are the medium size. Not too big & not too small 👍🏻 •5• Look for the tails... or stems! The green tails mean they were picked before ripeness! The dried tails have the best flavor!
#TraderJoes has some great ones! Go study your watermelons 😂
