4-Day Push/Pull Workout Routine (Part 1) By @musclemonsters

Due to the overwhelming response to my recent Upper/Lower post, I’ve decided to create a Push/Pull layout for those who requested it.

Push Workouts: As the name suggests, our push days will be dedicated to training our pushing/pressing muscles (i.e. chest, quads, triceps, and shoulders).
_
The way the program will be split is as follows: Day 1: Push (Strength), Day 2: Pull (Strength), Day 3: Rest, Day 4: Push (Hyper), Day 5: Pull (Hyper), Day 5&6: Rest, and Repeat!

💥SHOULDER WORK💥

Here’s a few exercises that are options to incorporate into training the shoulder complex. This incorporate strengthening the shoulder complex along with stabilization throughout each of the movements ✔️
.
🔑Staring off the half kneeling overhead press using the band. The R-band is trying to PULL me into INTERNAL ROTATION, therefore I have to stabilize the shoulder complex (i.e. external rotation) throughout the movement, which requires more rotator cuff activation ✔️
.
🔑Then to shoulder taps. I first shift my weight to the stabilizing arm (right in this case) then w/o too much shifting of my body tap the same side shoulder w/ my other hand. Harder than it looks…if its done correctly ✔️
.
🔑Finishing with quadruped (Q-PED) “Y” raise. Great one to target the lower trap/rotator cuff + continue the weight-bearing aspect of the movement for a stabilization effect ✔️
.
🔑Nothing fancy here, just some basic exercises that could be beneficial if appropriate to incorporate into training. Important to get assessed by a medical professional to see if you are doing this for a purpose….not just doing it to do an exercise ‼️

✔️Single arm shoulder press with kettlebell (flip kettlebell upside down so the heavy ball is pointing up). This makes it super hard to stabilize and therefore way more challenging than a standard shoulder press. 8 each arm x 3

✔️Cable chest fly- 12 reps with a 2 second hold x 3
➕Superset
✔️Push-ups on medicine balls- 8x3

✔️Decline chest press- 15x3
➕Superset
✔️Rear delt fly on TRX- 12x3

✔️Hammer strength bench press- 8x5

Giant Set:
✔️Band rear delt fly- 15x4

Lately I've been benching with my feet tucked under me and I have to say that it feels pretty good. When I'm on my toes it puts my knee lower than my hip and makes it nearly impossible for my butt to come off when I use leg drive. Only compromise has to be the loss of stability but like everything else practice makes you better. 205 for some doubles before hitting shoulders.

Overloading shoulders. Form can get sloppy with heavier weight but going between lighter sets with perfect form and heavier ones with a bit of cheating will make the shoulders pop.
