I decided to make a mobile base for my upgraded shop vacuum. Kind of looks like the fins on a rocket! All the joints use 5/16" dowels for strength. Holes for wheels were tapped to 3/8-16 all the way through which worked out great. The center hexagon shaped hub was actually the most complicated piece to cut accurately. Currently, I'm dry fitting the vertical 'fins'. At first, I considered using a mobile plant stand, but they all used cheap wheels and most seemed like they would need to be modified to work the way I wanted. Anyway, why buy what you can easily make!
The @ridgidpowertools R86090B 18V Brushless Wet/Dry Vac is a perfect workshop companion. I use it all the time for cleaning up sawdust from work tables and whatever my dust collection misses on the floor. The 5.0Ah battery lasts a long time too. Honestly can't remember the last time I charged it.
This has been a long time coming but I finally rigged up a dust collection system. Not gonna lie I didn't have high hope for it but it works amazing! I would say it collects about 95% of the sawdust and it should make clean up a lot faster and easier.
