Looking bad ass in my heart holter! 🔥 mama had to shave me! 😱 Do I look like a little lion with my Shiloh mane poking out of my shirt? 😉 #holtermonitor 🙏 for zero’s!
Why did my mama have my heart tested?
Holter Monitoring is done to identify German Shepherd Dog Inherited Ventricular Arrhythmia. GSDIVA is an inherited heart condition that can cause sudden death in Shiloh Shepherd puppies. Death most often occurs between the age of 16 to 32 weeks or 4 to 8 months and usually during sleep in the early morning hours or after exercise. There are no symptoms of GSDIVA and your puppy appears to be healthy and normal until sudden death, it’s really heartbreaking. Testing may be life-saving and by identifying which puppies are at risk with those lines that produce problems, we can help eliminate the Shiloh Shepherd’s gene pool from this devastating disease. Whether your dog will be bred or not, contributing to this data I feel is my responsibility. By gathering this important information it will protect future generations of this breed that so many of us have fallen in love with ❤️
