Side gig game is about to be SO strong this last semester of my senior year. And I know this is not just the case for myself. I am blessed to be surrounded both physically and spiritually by friends, family members, peers, coworkers, leaders, and professors, who amaze me by the ways they turn meaning into money.
With that being said it can also be overwhelming at times to be in an environment where so much is happening 24/7. Reflecting back on last semester, I struggled to keep both my physical and mental health at the top of my priorities list. I'd like to offer a piece of advice that I've been frequently coming back to that I think would have helped me during that time.
The great Raqueletta Moss of @netflix's She's Gotta Have It said to Nola Darling (a 27 y/o powerful female artist with several side gigs) “Ms. Darling has a case of hustle-itis. When you are doing way too much to makes ends meet. I understand. And I offer this free advice. Ms. Darling, you've got to work the hustle, never let the work hustle you. Adjust it to your personal temperature. You'll be okay. You're a winner.”
