'And just like the moon, a part of her was always hidden'
My contribution to the upcoming 'Hide & Seek' exhibition at Australia's @weswal_gallery curated by @marielarkin_ opening Oct 6th.
Long have I felt an affinity with the moon; her energy, her influence, her imperfections and in particular, her mystery. What elements of ourselves we outwardly share with others is mostly a conscious choice which may broaden over time and expand with familiarity, although I feel many of us may continue to hold a sacred part of our being deep within ourselves, protected by an intangible barrier fashioned by pain, rejection, guilt or shame. A near impenetrable shell, occasionally softened by the gentle waves of inclusion, love and safety although seldom broken.
So, like the moon, a part of us will always remain hidden
