Fairy Tale in the Sky // Not everything you see on social media is "real." This 👆🏻definitely is. Though not in the way you might think. If you're scrolling, take a break and I'll tell you a love story. __________ During the opening week of Space Cycle Shanghai we were scheduled to teach three classes on the helipad of the W corporate building. 80-something stories in the air to 100 Media + VIP guests. Our great Mother had other plans for that day and the skies opened up in torrential wind and downpour. I went up to the roof for about ten seconds and said 'No Way.' It was so slippery and cold and windy and unsafe I was sure I, or someone else, would slip or get blown off the building. Tensions ran high + tempers were short as we waited for the weather to let up. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity that took an immense deal of planning + many people were flown in from across the globe for this moment. It was on. Then off. Then on again. And by on again I mean, we were only up there for a total of 10 minutes in an attempt to get photo/video footage. There was no great ride in the sky. It was definitely not anyone's finest hour. But somewhere in the middle of all this... our team banded together in solidarity, professionalism, passion and in creative solution mode. I fell even more in love with each of them. I have a beautiful picture to share from that day (with a superimposed blue sky haha) And while the memory is of something that didn't go exactly as we planned... I will never, ever forget it. Love is everything. The rest is cake. The end.
