Day 19 🦈 Scorched
(Gotta get caught up after falling a few days behind!)
The soupfin shark is one of the most commonly consumed sharks in the world. Some countries use the fins to make soup (as the name implies), some use the meat for "fish" and chips, and others use the liver oil for a multitude of purposes.
But, like most sharks, its body is high in toxic compounds like mercury, lead, and other neurotoxins. Even if the meat is *scorched*, those toxins remain and pose a hazard to human health.
Ending the consumption of sharks is just as important to us as it is to the sharks. It is an outdated practice that needs to go extinct before the sharks do!
