Take a moment today and go show @cbfrommst some love if you can find my post on here (on Facebook). She deserves the recognition & so much more!
@thetodayshow On July 27, 2014, my sister Shannon was shot and killed by her ex husband who then killed himself in front of their two boys (who are now my boys) and my parents. Our hearts were shattered, but we were an unsinkable ship because so much love and kindness sustained us. An outpouring of love, prayers, meals, cards, kind gestures and beyond lifted us and gave us hope. Amidst the tragic chaos, one person and one act stands out the most to me, and I would like to take the opportunity to thank that person right here by #sharingkindness that she showed to me and my family. Just a few weeks before my sister was killed, my “friend” (who I had not ever actually met in person, but by a twist of incredibly lucky fate online), and I started a t-shirt company to spread love and kindness. After my sister died, Colleen King Berkowitz selflessly encouraged me to create a shirt in honor of my sister to benefit her boys... my boys. I was inspired & felt a burning desire to continue doing what we were doing because I knew there was no better way to honor Shannon’s memory, and Colleen was the one who carried the torch of kindness we had so recently lit to light the way for me. Our company has continued to grow and spread kindness and bring cheer to many, and I believe with every ounce of my being that while a LOT of people contributed to getting us to where we are today, Colleen is the reason I am able to get out of bed with a cheerful heart. She should be recognized for being a kind human who simply wants to make others happy. She is TRULY one of a KIND and I love her with my whole heart!
