Mood = Food.....anyone else? .
As much as I’ve learned and grown - I still know what my instincts are and that they are ALWAYS right below the surface always waiting to jump back up. One of those habits is associating moods & foods. .
Happy or sad - doesn’t matter. Food has long been a part of the plan for how I cope with those feelings. And stressed? Pretty sure I did NOT cope without food. I have learned to see it as fuel and power and certainly changed my perspective of it. But right below the surface — those instincts wait.
I have thought about how to celebrate as I wrapped my 80-day program yesterday. My gut? Have a big splurge of a meal. But then I thought about the WORK. Showing up each day and working to add definition and strength. Dialing in nutrition to better stabilize energy and health. I tried to dig a little deeper to see how I could reward THAT. .
Instead of continuing the cycle of moods & foods, I decided to try something else. I’m going for a run. I’m getting a manicure. I’m going to buy some new workout gear to excited about the new adventure. .
Run: compare to pre-program — what’s changed?
Manicure: lifting weights doesn’t always look pretty on my hands - they need a little love.
Clothes: the program is over, not the journey, so I want to get excited about what’s next. .
