Let the color war begin: In reaction to Anish Kapoor's (@dirty_corner) monopoly on #vantablack—the blackest black—artist Stuart Semple (@stuartsemple) created the pinkest pink, and banned Kapoor from buying it. Buyers, in fact, must guarantee that they are not Anish Kapoor and have no intention to give him the pigment. But today it seems someone broke that rule. "Up yours," Kapoor wrote, giving the pinkest bird. #sharetheblack?#sharethepink?#sharetherainbow? Which side are you on?
Received my @stuartsemple black kit in the mail yesterday. It was packaged so lovingly... and it definitely does smell like black cherry! I am looking forward to playing with this and including some of my other black and matte medium concoctions... I have very high hopes! I will keep you guys posted on the functionality of this set. I am hoping this ramps up the 3-D effects of my pieces. When my work shows, there will be snazzy lighting effects and 3-D glasses... not just your typical gallery offerings!
Anish Kapoor, the artist behind Chicago's "The Bean," has called the nickname "completely stupid," but he's a bully who refuses to #sharetheblack, so I invite you all to join me in only acknowledging the piece as "The Bean." Thank you for your time.
I'll be looking for any excuse to use #yellowistyellow from now on 🌟 I do highly recommend trying out all of the @stuartsemple powders and potions though. The colours are intense, the powders mix beautifully with the super base, water and every other medium I've tried... and Black 2.0 does indeed give an incredibly matt, flat finish. It might not reach the lofty standards of #vantablack but 2 coats with a soft brush gets you pretty damn close 👌#sharetheblack
