"Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.” Luke 12:15
Puts my life into perspective reading these words Jesus spoke. "Guard against every kind of greed." This world thrives on greediness!! It's totally a covetous society we live in. You buy anything new and tomorrow there is a better one. "I am such a fail to have yesterdays model. Should have bought this one!" Sadly others will gladly join in, belittling you in your poor purchase.😕With Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and such we are bombarded with images of beautiful physically fit people in perfect homes, living the carefree life, eating incredible foods, with inhuman skills at diy-ing anything amazingly! They link us to websites that tell us if we had bought their product we would be fulfilled. Isn't that all any of us really wants, to be filled? Needed? Loved? "Life is not measured by how much you own" The Lord's own words! Life is more than stuff! More than the tv ads will tell you. It requires fullness, not of yourself, but of the Spirit of God! Be filled with His goodness! Share His mercy and grace! Lay your treasures in being the hands and feet for Jesus. Be that kind word & prayer warrior that lifts someone on a dark day. Be the hug when that someone has a great accomplishment that cost them so much. Be that shoulder of strength when the news comes that this baby isn't going to be okay for your friend either. See that mother who is struggling to keep it all together while her husband is deployed, make her dinner and pack the kids lunches for the next day. The gentleman 3 pews up who is always alone at Sunday service, invite him for brunch. Fill another's soul and yours will overflow!! There is so much we can do that costs us just a little more than our time and means so much more!! That is where your treasures should be friends, in your life. Live out your treasures and lay them before your King when you enter eternity. They will be more precious than any jewel you can find here on earth.
