"Our hearts, they need a mirror, Tessa. We see our better selves in the eyes of those who love us. And there is a beauty that brevity alone provides." • • • ✅ Vote: 5/5 (it couldn't be any less)
This book literally broke my heart in two, but I loved it from the strat to the bottom. It has been a loooong road through it but only because I'm a mess and I can't always find a time to read in peace, I'm sorry :(
By the way, you know that I absolutely love the Shadowhunters saga and I thought nothing would have ever been better than The Mortal Instrument, but I was wrong.
Maybe it's the fact that it takes place in London, or that Tessa is sooo much like me when it comes to heart affairs, or because I can't choose between Jem or Will, but this book it melt my heart and I can't stop thinking about the ending and all the characters.
It's full of really amazing quotes and I love how deep and true some of them can be (I filled a notebook with quotes lol)
How can you say you love a book? When you are totally afraid of a character's health and life: I really loved Will, despite fo what you might think, he's my favourite character and his relationship with Jem is a blessing: they're so different yet so loving and sweet. Will's story actually broke my heart and maybe I prefer him over Jem..just a little bit!
I appreciated every "Mortal Instrument" references and links, I really love when authors connect their works like this and it makes me feel nostalgic *-* and the ending..oh god, I cried so much but overall it's the best ending we could ever ask for. ✅ Favourite character: of course Will, as I said
✅ Recommend it if: you love fantasy books, with a bit of young adul romance and heartbreaking lovestories
And that's all, this was my first book review :3 I hope you'll like it and PLEASE let me know what are your thoughts, if you're planning on reading the saga or if you already did it and if you liked it or not.
I wanna know!! ♥️ Lots of love, Val. ▪▪▪ #bookstagram #bookofthemonth
