Scorching weather but I still want my bak kut teh! I prefer Ng Ah Sio than the other outlet further down Rangoon Road. Their soup was served hot, peppery and so robust. Remember to ask for the more tender prime ribs and their braised pig trotters. So good! Lots of side dishes to chose from and friendly, helpful staffs too. Always an enjoyable meal.

In the peak of mid-summer in 19th century Japan where the blazing heat is known to drain even the greatest stamina and the biggest appetite, the unagi is consumed to restore what the merciless sun sapped away. The good thing is, Man Man has recently opened a second restaurant at Duo Galleria to save you from standing in the heatwave at it's Keong Saik outlet (and also from witnessing the butchering of live eels). In frame is the DUO outlet-exclusive (apt) Shira Kaba Large Hitsumabushi ($39.40) comprising of the darker Tokutoku Kabayaki (charcoal-grilled eel stained golden-brown by the sweet basting tare sauce) and the fairer Tokutoku Shirayaki (roasted/broiled without tare and only seasoned with salt), served on a bed of rice with a side of pickles and soup. It's to be consumed with a combination of G.I.Y. fresh wasabi, nori, green onions or any of the sauces, then with the accompanying dashi stock to end, before stepping out of the restaurant to face the sun, this time with the strength of UNAGI.

Alfresco dinner with the boyfriend at Bliss Restaurant to celebrate our 50th monthsary! 💑 .

After hearing rave reviews about the lobster from our friends, we were dying to try it for ourselves and so we ended up ordering the Sirloin and Lobster ($38). When the dish arrived at our table, our eyes went 😍 when we saw the huge lobster tails coated with a thick layer of baked cheese on them. Mmm ❤ .

Casting our forks and knives aside, we decided to just dig in with our bare hands to get all the tender, juicy flesh out from the lobster tail. 💕 .

Was expecting the same succulent flesh in the claw and after taking the effort to carefully crack the claw to get the entire chunk out, I was sorely disappointed because the flesh from the claw lacked that sweetness and tenderness #wastedeffort 😣 .

The steak was alright. But then again, I have insanely high expectations for my steak and it's a sirloin cut so 😂 .

Lunch @kemberandjones today, leaving Glasgow tomorrow sadly :c anyway, super delicious fish platter with tomatoes instead of the beetroot because my sister and I hate beetroot, I LOVED the mackarel pate and how generous they were with it, just wished it came with more bread bc my sister and I ended up ordering TWO bread baskets to have equal amounts fish and toast HAHA, also got the Halloumi, avo, tomato, and onion open-faced sandwich with olive oil and balsamic and the halloumi was amazing and worked heavenly with the avocado, I was transported to heaven with the bread at this place both the baskets and the sandwich BLEW MY MIND.
Lastly, got a GIANT fruit scone with raspberry jam and butter. Perfect in between of dry and buttery but rather big, will be honest I shared this with my sister and got bored after eating half of my half, so a quarter, don't think I would see myself with a full one... still enjoyed half though!

[Hup Kee Oyster omelette]

Tried the renowned Oyster omelette from Hup Kee unexpectedly after seeing how the omelette was done from afar! Ordered the medium portion($8) which was great for sharing (3-4pax).
.
Omelette came across being real egg-gy unlike those super starchy ones we often see! Tasted like an egg with a little crisp and mostly soft texture accompanied by the fresh and tender main character (Big huge oysters)!

Finished this portion real quick and will defintely order again another visit! --------------------------
