Here is the second offial edmreport Festival review, @resolutionnye!
This is a different type of festival as it is not solely predicated on dance music and incorporates other genres.
Artist Highlights: as far as dance music goes the biggest names are Illenium, Seven Lions, Slander and 3lau, who all have a respectable and loyal following. I touched on Illenium in the previous post so I'll highlight the others. Seven Lions is a guy who will hit in you in all the feels, then drop the craziest dubstep and make you go crazy. Slander is similar but more dubsteb/trap influenced with a touch of melodic tendencies in their sets. 3lau has switched up his style recently to a more intimate pop like sound, I haven't seen him yet but I've heard he puts on a great show. Liquid Todd is also an old school dj who would be worth checking out if you are a fan of Paul Oakenfold and Paul Van Dyk.
Now the other 2 big names are Young the Giant and Dirty Heads, both more alternative/indie/rock music. These artists will give a nice change of pace if you don't feel like raging and want a break from edm.
Price: 1 day- $40-$50, 2 day- $99
Very good pricing as it is one if the cheapest tickets for a New Year's festival
Go or No: Unless you're going to something bigger like omfg or decadence or snowglobe this is a GREAT show to go to. 1 day tickets are cheaper than most clubs and the music diversity here is great if you want more than just edm. Even if you just want to go for edm music the artists that are there are worth 50 bucks to see solo, let alone altogether.
