Bring Back Party People -Being yourself is what makes you different - It feels like there aren't as many individuals anymore, you know the independent minded people - The "party people" who were always doing something unique and different. like throwing house parties! Back in the day, I remember that at weekends, when trying to decide what to do, along with all the clubs and bars there was always the option to go to some guy or gals house party. It's been years since I went to one of these.
I actually threw a party on new years eve 2013- 14 I believe. It was very random and last minute. I had just moved into a new place on bond street which was ideal for such things. So at about 12.15am new years day 2014 I just put it out on Facebook and called a few people and about an hour later the place was jumping...into the early hours...of the new year... Since then it's been dry. People just don't seem to have the same spontaneity and drive like before. Social media has made it easy to organize and invite people to events however it's has also made it even easier to decline rsvp.
I can however, feel a resurgence in people looking for things to do together. Tired of just saying home and facebooking and watching you tube videos about how to get more followers. There's a realisation also that if you want people to follow what you're doing then get creative, start doing cooler things. And thanks to the smartphone we are no longer tethered and can free ourselves from the desk... So allow me to suggest bringing back the house party. Kill two birds with one stone. Ideal situation for actually hanging out with people, making new friends and getting some cool footage for your social media audiences.
