Today should’ve been exhausting. But I’m lit up. I watch my kids imaginations run wild all the time but these mountains and this forest captured mine. The realm of possibility expanded. These trees are impossibly huge and they’ll change the way I look at everything from now on.
Got back from a camping trip in the #sequoianationalpark with some wonderful people. Never felt so small standing next to these awe inspiring trees. But for me it just added more evidence to the limitless ways Jehovahs shows his love for us.
‘Twas a day that started out like any other school field trip day. The plan was that I’d drop a load of middle schoolers at Hume Lake for a week of camp, and head straight home to finish up Monday afternoon. I guess I didn’t realize I was headed into Giant Sequoia National Monument. I was just the middle car so I wasn’t really planning on understanding where I was going. When I saw a sign on the road directing me to General Grant, I knew my day had turned into a mini-solo-vacation. I dropped the kids (that’s mine giving me a heart-felt goodbye) and hightailed it back to exploration land. What glorious views, and The General is simply massive! It was a surprise treat of a day, and grocery shopping can always wait. 👍🏼🌲🍃☀️#surprisevacation#getoutside#sequoianationalpark#giantsequoia#nationalmonument#california#fieldtrip#minivacation
