All of the time I used to spend "getting ready for summer" in the gym, running until I threw up, counting calories, tanning, researching low-carb diets, trying to find ways to avoid all fat--I use that time now to engage with friends, mindfully practice yoga, research the Body Positive Movement, leisurely ride my bike, SELF CARE, & live free inside my mind.
I will NEVER force myself to change my body to fit a bullshit beauty standard again. If you don't like me the way I am, I really don't care. There are people who genuinely love & care about me more than ever, this new me, me in recovery, me with this body, me enlightened with self love.
I'm sharing my experience for all of you on your journeys to self love & body acceptance, to let you know that you can't stop trying. You can't give up. You can't throw in the towel. You have to push through. Even if you give up in your mind, keep going in your heart.
