Me and my freshly harvested wild garlic! 🌸
Ok, found a new theme; flowers! I watched the boys @soignefood discus flowers on dishes and found myself agreeing on the “you should see and showcase the main ingredients, not hide them underneath ‘garnishes’!”. 🍃🌸🌱🌸🌱🍃🦑🦄🌡Sure the eye -and the IG eye even more- likes to see a pretty picture, but I sometimes see these dishes where beauty (often a showcase of technic and flower assortment) is overruling the actual dish.
It should not look like you wanna be in the flower and corsage business or you’d rather be product designer.
In the end food stays nutrition and I prefer it when you still get that visually. Do you agree on this? .
Since flowers are a seasonal product now, and I do like those, I’d like to use some. Sure it’s pretty; but when is it to much or does it make sense? .
Follow my flower journey ánd the one of this wild garlic. I spotted these (in an area where dogs probably didn’t go 🤔) and went to forage them.
I felt real badass crossing a fence in my sweet romantic outfit. All tourists where looking at me 🤣 #rebel
Like to think I compensate/hide my masculinity very well 😇 But my comments on most ‘craft’ dishes with flowers are like; “bitch please?!”, “oef, my eyes”, “underneath the flowers it still looks shit”. I’m harsh! But also to myself. #issues .
Well, so; easy breezy flower dishes up next! 💪🌸
