B A R E I T A L L
True intimacy with others, starts with ourselves.
We can't have truly healthy relationships unless we've done the work of cultivating closeness with ourselves.
What does self-intimacy even mean?
Without the distractions, busyness and numbing agents, we've learned to sit with our feelings, no matter how uncomfortable they may be.
We are honest with ourselves about how we are feeling. No suppressing, denying or lying to ourselves.
We've learned how to care for ourselves on the most deep and intrinsic level. Easily identifying and meeting our needs.
We've learned to love and accept all parts of us, even the ones we have previously deemed bad, unworthy or painful.
It means we've mastered the art of walking alone and the ability to remained anchored deep in Self in the face of even the strongest attractions.
It means we trust and honour the guidance from our Inner Self, despite what anyone else says that we 'should' do.
It means we speak up, stand up and do things our way, no matter how afraid we are to rock the boat.
We support ourselves, we are our #1 cheerleader, our own mentor, leader, healer and guide.
So, what I'm saying is, if you want to have healthy love in your life, start with you!
We will always attract the right and perfect partner to help us learn our lessons.
I believe self-development can be done both in and out of relationships but it's important to have a strong grasp on the TRUE you before trying to dance with another in a serious way. Otherwise you will lose yourself in it fast and, I can tell you, that doesn't feel good at all.
LOVE ALL PARTS OF YOU FIRST and the rest will fall into place.
