Acceptance// How often do you find yourself fighting with an emotion or an experience? it can be so hard to accept the difficult moments in life.
Being aware of how your feeling or what your thinking is so important. If you can name your emotion and experience it in the moment you can then also soothe yourself and give yourself what you need.

So many people I work with push their emotions down and down and then wonder why they loose it over something small. It's often because they have been avoiding dealing with the bigger things and pushing away the feelings.

Ahhhh, burnout. Have you been there before? I sure have. ⠀

I know everyone’s experiences with burn out are different, but my first business burnout felt a lil’ something like this…⠀

All I wanted to do was curl up in a ball in my bed and sleep for 8 days straight. ⠀

My brain was EXHAUSTED. Like I’d pulled 30 all-nighters in a row, chugged 12 pots of coffee, and was now “coming down”.⠀

Yet for some strange reason, when I lied down in my bed, I COULDN’T sleep. My brain was worn out, but it was still going a million miles a minute 😴⠀

“Did I remember to switch the link in that email?”⠀

“I can’t forget to message Sarah back tomorrow!”⠀

“Oh my god, what if NO ONE buys my course?!”⠀

I only got 3 or 4 hours of sleep every night for a few weeks, but slowly, my mind and body started to recover. ⠀

And I vowed that I would never let myself get to that place again (but *ahem*, I did... But that’s a story for another day!)⠀

Ever been stuck in a funk like quicksand? You just can't seem to get out of it, no matter how much you struggle?

Last week, I was feeling a bit off, energetically. It's been something I've been struggling with off and on since getting sick in December and miscarrying in January. And while I have so many tools to improve things and so much to be grateful for, while in the funk, sometimes I don't even want to use them.
This past weekend, I had the opportunity to make choices to stay in it or move through it. To realize that I didn't have to know EXACTLY what the perfect combination was, of meditation or exercise or distracting myself or therapy, I just needed to choose to do something to move me out of it.
While doing a guided meditation, I was instructed to picture a world. I chose happy. For my word, and for my desired state.
It's a choice we make. It doesn't happen accidentally. Happiness comes from creating the inner life that allows us to embrace our outer life. I wrote myself affirmations, tools that would get me there, if I choose to use them each day, because happiness is also created by habits.
I am happy because I am...... Connected - to others, to myself, to nature.
Loved - by my husband, my son, my family, my friends and my team.
Inspired - feeding my mind and growing with inspiration and ideas.
Moving - moving my body to celebrate it.
BE-ing - Being in the moment and creating space for spontaneneity.
Creating - with my hands, my camera, my words.
Finding - the adventure in everything.

I am not going to lie to you- having a child has taken a toll on my body and 4 years later, I have never fully recovered. From sciatic nerve pain to painful joints and possible arthritis (or something close to it)- I truly feel like an old lady. The last week, I’ve been applying heat to my right arm and back as well as massaging the pain areas with this @moonbodysoul balm that has cannabis in it 😉 I have been taking it easy trying to make a full recovery and so far, I am feeling better. 🙏 This is a good reminder for me to nurture my body and take necessary time off, perhaps that is what the Universe was trying to tell me the whole time. Also for those who have chronic back pain like myself- my back is filled with knots and if you don’t have easy access to physical therapy or massages- I highly recommend a kneading massager I got on Amazon for $45. Holy cow what a difference it makes!!! ✨

With summer comes body negativity.
’My thighs are huge’
’I hate my belly rolls’
‘Why are my arms so flabby’
‘My boobs aren’t big enough’
‘I’m not as slim as her’
The list goes on.
These statements become deep routed and we accept them as the truth. But they aren’t.
This is something women have struggled with for a long time, and it only seems to be getting worse. 
There’s not a quick solution, but I’ve found supporting myself with these 3 pillars quietens negative talk and allows me to be more accepting of myself.

MEALS 🥦
Am I eating a mainly natural, varied and nutrient dense diet? Am I drinking lots of water?
If our bodies are weighed down with heavy foods and our digestive systems are in overdrive, then we will never feel healthy and light. 
Same when we’re dehydrated. We feel puffy and bloated but we need water to feel energised and clear headed.

MOVEMENT 🤸🏻‍♂️
Modern day jobs make it difficult to keep our bodies moving, but lack of movement keeps joints stiff and emotional tension in our muscles. 
Negativity literally sits stagnant in our bodies making us feel lethargic and achy. Something as simple as stretching can help. You don’t even need to follow a guide, just do what feels enjoyable to you.

MINDSET 🧘🏻‍♀️
Above all else, I think mindset really is the key to true health. 
If you’re not in a loving place with yourself, you simply won’t want to nourish your body with the right foods or engage in movement. 
The first step is to slowly and gently start working through the reasons why you might not like your body. 
Did someone say something hurtful to you as a young girl? Did an ex-partner knock your confidence? Or has the media made you feel inadequate?
Reflecting, journaling and seeking support to work through these deep set beliefs is the best way to truly change the relationship with yourself.

I believe that how our bodies look when we’re implementing these 3 things is how it is supposed to look, NATURALLY. 
If belly rolls, squishy hips, curvy thighs or strong arms are still there then THAT’S OKAY. The sooner we start believing this, the sooner we can live our life fully, without worry or comparison.
