Ever been stuck in a funk like quicksand? You just can't seem to get out of it, no matter how much you struggle?
Last week, I was feeling a bit off, energetically. It's been something I've been struggling with off and on since getting sick in December and miscarrying in January. And while I have so many tools to improve things and so much to be grateful for, while in the funk, sometimes I don't even want to use them.
This past weekend, I had the opportunity to make choices to stay in it or move through it. To realize that I didn't have to know EXACTLY what the perfect combination was, of meditation or exercise or distracting myself or therapy, I just needed to choose to do something to move me out of it.
While doing a guided meditation, I was instructed to picture a world. I chose happy. For my word, and for my desired state.
It's a choice we make. It doesn't happen accidentally. Happiness comes from creating the inner life that allows us to embrace our outer life. I wrote myself affirmations, tools that would get me there, if I choose to use them each day, because happiness is also created by habits.
I am happy because I am...... Connected - to others, to myself, to nature.
Loved - by my husband, my son, my family, my friends and my team.
Inspired - feeding my mind and growing with inspiration and ideas.
Moving - moving my body to celebrate it.
BE-ing - Being in the moment and creating space for spontaneneity.
Creating - with my hands, my camera, my words.
Finding - the adventure in everything.
